Milli Reasürans Art Gallery is hosting a special exhibition from Spain. The exhibition includes gravures of the city of Toledo and its inhabitants, made by leading European artists who lived between the 17th and 20th centuries and using different techniques.
Toledo, which has been home to the Romans, Visigoths, Umayyads, French and Spaniards throughout its history, experiencing occupations and civil wars, its cathedrals, synagogues, mosques, medieval buildings, leatherwork inherited from the Muslim Umayyads and still maintained for touristic purposes today, It is among the most original cities in Europe with its sword and similar cutting weapons and gold inlay, and is at the top of UNESCO's list of world cities under protection.
The important structures of the cities, rural landscapes, urban and rural life were depicted in the gravures made by the leading artists of the period, the first examples of which were seen on the pages of travel books that appeared in Europe in the 16th century.
