This book was prepared for publication as part of the Atatürk memorial program “Thinking about Atatürk. Two works: the Catafalque and Anıtkabir. Two architects: Bruno Taut and Emin Onat.” The program was organized by Millî Reasürans T.A.Ş. with the support of Anadolu Hayat Sigorta A.Ş. and the Goethe Institute in Istanbul. In addition to the book, the program included a panel discussion with the same title held on 10 November 1997 at the Millî Reasürans Auditorium and chaired by Dr. Afife Batur, participated by Dr. Nezih Eldem, Dr. Doğan Kuban, and Dr. Kristiana Hartmann; an exhibition at the Millî Reasürans Art Gallery from 10 November to 10 December 1997; and a concert performance on November 13th by the Millî Reasürans Chamber Orchestra and soloist Zeynep Yamanürk conducted by Cem Mansur.

Dieses Buch wird im Rahmen der mit “Für Atatürk gedacht. Zwei Werke: Katafalk und Anıtkabir. Zwei Architekten: Bruno Taut und Emin Onat” betitelten Veranstaltung zum Gedenken an Atatürk veröffentlicht. Das Programm wurde von der Millî Reasürans T.A.Ş. organisiert und von der Anadolu Hayat Sigorta A.Ş. sowie dem Goethe-Institut Istanbul unterstützt. Zum Veranstaltungsprogramm gehören ein von Prof. Dr. Afife Batur geleitetes gleichnamiges Symposium mit den Teilnehmern Prof. Dr. Nezih Eldem, Prof. Dr. Doğan Kuban und Prof. Dr. Kristiana Hartmann, das am 10. November 1997 im Auditorium der Millî Reasürans stattfand, eine vom 10. November bis zum 10. Dezember 1997 geöffnete Ausstellung gleichen Namens in der Millî Reasürans Sanat Galerisi, sowie am 13. November ein Konzert des Millî Reasürans Kammerorchesters unter der Leitung von Cem Mansur und mit der Pianistin Zeynep Yamanürk als Solistin.
