The Exhibition of Necmettin Özlü at the Millî Reasürans Art Gallery
“The Aesthetics of Chaos”
The aesthetics of the infinitely small, the infinitely large, and infinite complexity…
Necmettin Özlü, who explores the mathematical harmony at the core of the universe, presents his large-scale paintings at the Millî Reasürans Art Gallery between March 7 and 25.
Stating that light gives rise to matter and cosmic knowledge, Necmettin Özlü focuses in this exhibition on the relationships between “matter and light.” While pursuing the mystery of matter through the forms and colors he creates on canvas—and indirectly, the figure within this context—the artist also seeks to leave a musical and poetic aftertaste.
In his recent works, Necmettin Özlü brings together spaces of different scales on the canvas, emphasizing the importance of observing the object both from a distance and up close. He adds: “It is even necessary to find ways of looking at the object from within itself. This calls to mind a special kind of training beyond classical art education. In this way, we can simultaneously perceive human figures concealed within tense surfaces reminiscent of absolute intergalactic voids, and stains that evoke molecular vibrations.”
