The painting exhibition by Serpil and Hanefi Yeter continues at the Milli Reasürans Art Gallery until April 14th.
Both artists share a common theme: placing humanity at the core of their paintings. Hanefi Yeter, stating his belief that everything related to humanity can be art, says, “I am in favor of art that changes, develops, speaks to its viewer, discusses, asks questions, influences/guides, and makes people feel the responsibility of a humane world when they are alone with themselves.”
Serpil Yeter, believing that art that bears witness to the era should evoke as rich associations as possible, leaves open doors for the viewer in her paintings. “I try to convey what I want to express by absorbing and transmitting it with aesthetic values, while leaving open doors for the viewer, drawing them into the subjects with their own fantasies…”
The exhibition can be viewed at the Milli Reasürans Art Gallery between March 14th and April 14th, 1996.
